Eversheds Sutherland appoints Alan Cook
Eversheds Sutherland has enhanced its renewables and real estate offering in Scotland with the appointment of Alan Cook.
Mr Cook, who is dual-qualified in Scotland and England & Wales, joins the firm from Pinsent Masons, where he acted on a series of significant projects for major energy and real estate clients.
In 2022, he led a team to secure land rights for the UK’s first spaceport advising on all aspects of its negotiations and leasing agreements with Highlands and Islands Enterprise Scotland. Alongside his landmark work, he regularly advises clients on sales, acquisitions, development, lettings and management projects across Scotland.
Euan Smith, senior office partner, Eversheds Sutherland, said: “Alan’s in-depth experience and sector knowledge makes him a key hire for our practice. I am delighted to welcome him to Eversheds Sutherland.
“His knowledge will give invaluable support to clients with their plans for investing in renewables and real estate. We all very much look forward to working with him and helping Scottish and UK businesses to expand domestically and overseas.”
Mr Cook added: “I’m very pleased to have joined Eversheds Sutherland.
“This is a natural next step in my career and I’m looking forward to using my knowledge to support clients in renewables and real estate. The firm’s culture matches my own approach and the team in the Edinburgh office already has deep relationships with clients. It is a great time to move to the firm.”
