Ex-footballer Alan Mackin convicted of harassing lawyers linked to divorce case
A former football club chairman has been found guilty of harassing two lawyers linked to his divorce case.
Alan Mackin, 64, who ran East Stirlingshire FC, blamed Grant MacLean, 55, and Ronald Fulton, 65 for “ruining [his] life” after he accrued a £49,000 legal bill, The Times reports.
Mr Mackin, who played for Motherwell and Falkirk, pretended to be a pizza delivery man to keep track of Mr MacLean and said he would “sort out” Mr Fulton.
He denied the charge but was convicted of engaging in conduct in May and June 2017 that would result in fear and alarm. He was fined £750 by Sheriff Kenneth Hogg who said: “This is a piece of nonsense and stupidity on your behalf whether you like it or not. You shouldn’t have got involved in this.”
