Excellence recognised at Ian Moir and Company with rebrand
Ian Moir and Company has undergone a rebrand to recognise the work of partner Paul Sweeney.
The firm, now known as Moir and Sweeney Litigation, offers a full range of services in criminal defence, family law, proceeds of crime and regulatory work.
In 2014 the firm was one of a small number accredited by the Commonwealth Games Pro Bono Scheme to represent athletes and dignitaries facing criminal allegations.
It carried out more police interviews than any other firm and successfully defended the only athlete to stand trial. In 2017, it was named Criminal Law Firm of The Year 2017 at the Law Awards of Scotland.
Mr Moir told Scottish Legal News: “I am extremely proud and honoured to share the name of the firm and its continued success with Paul.
“Since he joined the firm he has been an outstanding colleague and this exciting announcement gives him the recognition he thoroughly deserves.”
Mr Sweeney told SLN: “I am delighted to have secured my long term future and can’t wait to get started.
“The pathway from associate to partner has been an exciting one at a time when the market is changing so rapidly. I’m delighted to have my name attached to the firm and cannot wait to continue the great work we have been doing together.”
