Faculty Christmas collection for vulnerable families
The Faculty of Advocates will be playing Santa again this year to vulnerable families in Fife.
Members and staff are being asked to donate presents, treats or cash which will go to the family support charity, Home-Start Glenrothes.
The collection has been organised by Maria Maguire QC, who is hoping for another “fantastic response” after successful appeals in the last two years.
“Our help is really appreciated, and Home-Start Glenrothes and the families are so grateful and relieved. They count on us,” she said.
“The children of these families will not be having much of a Christmas without donations of presents and treats. And there are a lot of mothers and fathers who will not receive anything either, unless we can arrange something for them, too.
“Members of Faculty and staff have been very generous in embracing this cause, and we are hoping once again to make the season as happy as we can for these families.
“In the last years the initiative has also received great contributions from outwith the Faculty including the judiciary, solicitor colleagues and friends and family of members and staff. All donations are welcome and invaluable. Knowing that such widespread support is there makes a real difference to the families.”
