Faculty to give school pupils insight into life at the bar
The Faculty of Advocates will welcome a group of school students for a look at life at the Scottish bar.
The visit is part of an Edinburgh University project, “Pathways to the Professions”, which provides advice and guidance to pupils from S4 to S6 who are interested in applying for law, medicine, veterinary medicine or architecture.
Pathways to the Professions is aimed at the 46 state secondary schools in Edinburgh and the Lothians, and offers particular support to pupils who may be the first in their family to consider higher education.
The visit, this Friday, will include a tour of Parliament House in the company of advocates who will answer questions about a career at the bar.
It follows a similar visit recently by student members of Dundee University Law Society, who described it as “successful” and thanked “everyone who made the trip possible”.
