Faculty’s pro bono leader to speak at law clinics event
The head of the Faculty of Advocates’ pro bono service, Mungo Bovey QC , has been invited to give the keynote address at a conference of student law clinics.
Mr Bovey, convenor of the Free Legal Services Unit, will give a talk to the sixth annual conference of the Scottish University Law Clinic Network (SULCN) – Access to Justice: Beyond the Campus.
He said: “I hope to show that law clinics can expand the reach of their services by engaging with the Faculty’s pro bono unit in cases which might benefit from the services of an advocate.”
SULCN brings together, and raises awareness of, student law clinics in Scotland which strive to improve access to justice across society.
Its conference, on 7 June at Glasgow Caledonian University, will explore whether and how law clinics can move “beyond the campus”.
