FAI court process begins for death of transportation company worker

The Crown Office has lodged a first notice to begin the court process for a fatal accident inquiry into the death of Jordan Little.

Mr Little, 25, who was employed as a general worker for Hodge Specialist Transport Limited, Craighead Farm, Abington, South Lanarkshire, died on the morning of 25 April 2022, after a workshop incident involving a heavy goods vehicle.

A preliminary hearing is set for 7 February 2025 at Lanark Sheriff Court.

Procurator fiscal Andy Shanks, who leads on death investigations for the Crown Office, said: “The death of Jordan Little occurred while in the course of his employment and as such a fatal accident inquiry is mandatory.

“The lodging of the first notice enables FAI proceedings to commence under the direction of the sheriff. Mr Little’s family will continue to be kept informed of significant developments as court proceedings progress.”
