Festive charity cheer from Clyde & Co
The Scottish team at Clyde & Co has raised over £10,000 for charities in the final months of 2020, including many significant donations as part of a UK-wide festive giving drive in the run up to Christmas.
Clyde & Co’s corporate responsibility and inclusion team organised many charitable and community activities for the festive period, including writing Christmas cards for elderly people who are isolating, a charity carol concert, raffles, sponsorship drives and food bank donations.
The Scotland team’s Cash for Kids toy appeal raised £700, and UK staff donated 177 toys to Family Action through their virtual toy appeal. These will be distributed to families who are struggling financially, providing Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children who may not otherwise receive a present. For Place2Be the team raised £6,500 through a raffle, and an additional £2,500 from a festive Donate 5, Run 5 exercise challenge.
Vikki Melville, managing partner for Clyde & Co Scotland, said: “I’m so proud of our Scotland team and rest of the UK for their continued enthusiasm and support for charity activities, despite the adaptations we’ve had to make to our charity events in order to maintain social distancing and safety for all concerned.
“We’re keenly aware that this year has brought challenging circumstances for many groups, and we’re proud to be able to support. With most of our employees working from home, our charity work has also provided a great opportunity to connect colleagues through fundraising competitions and exercise pledges.”
Clyde & Co’s Scottish team also raised over £8,000 in October for Cash for Kids as part of Radio Forth’s 5k-a-day challenge.
