And finally… snow drugs here

Dutch police seized a crop of cannabis plants after noticing the absence of snow on the roof of a house.

The house in which the plants were being grown was the only one in the street whose roof was free of snow – an indication of the high temperatures within needed to grow the drug.

Police found an industrial-scale operation in the house, with heat lamps being used to nurture the plants.

Officers in Haarlem near Amsterdam said: “No snow on the neighbours’ roof? You can report suspected cannabis farms anonymously,”

In the Netherlands people are permitted to grow up to five cannabis plants in their house and to carry a maximum of five grams each.
