First chairman and new managing partner at Stronachs
With immediate effect, David Rennie, has become chairman and Neil Forbes has taken over the role of managing partner.
Mr Rennie has been managing partner of Stronachs for the past 15 years.
In his new role as chairman, Mr Rennie will continue with client work, while devoting considerable time to business development and mentoring the firm’s group of young and talented lawyers.
Mr Forbes, who has been a partner with Stronachs since 2001, will continue to head up the corporate team along with steering the overall direction of the firm in his new role.
Commenting on the new roles, Mr Rennie said: “In my 15 years as managing partner the firm has continued to build its client base and reputation as a leading independent law firm in the North and North-east with in-depth sector knowledge and legal expertise that rivals any of the larger, national and international firms.
“In the last 18 months, we’ve attracted a high calibre of new partners, associates and young lawyers to join our existing pool of legal talent.
“In the last few years of one of the region’s worst downturn in history, we’ve also demonstrated our resilience by continuing to succeed and invest. This is down to a combination of our expert but personal service, our strong client relationships and the hard work of our whole team.”
Mr Forbes added: “David has made a huge contribution to the firm over a number of years and it’s very pleasing that we are retaining his experience and expertise as both our chairman and partner.
“I joined the firm in 1993 and it is a privilege to now be in the position to lead such a talented team. Our recent appointments and the move to new premises demonstrates our commitment to investing in the future and I have every confidence in the future growth and success of Stronachs.”
