'Four Cities Tour' off to a strong start

The Terra Firma tour bus has reached the halfway point of its ‘Four Cities Tour’, having got off to a great start with two successful events in Inverness and Aberdeen last week.

The talks were very well received with the audience actively engaged in subsequent discussion. Feedback from attendees was very positive, with the seminars described as “a fantastic event” and “a great night”, featuring “a great series of talks”. Thanks were extended to the four speakers (Alasdair Burnet KC, Mark Lazarowicz, Ewen Brown and Alan Innes, and practice manager Emma Caskie-Potter) for travelling to Inverness and Aberdeen.

For their part the team from Terra Firma expressed their delight at being able to catch up with attendees in person, once again. Emma said “While the likes of Zoom and Teams are undoubtedly useful, there’s nothing like face to face interactions - we were very grateful people took time out of their busy schedules to join us for the seminars and are looking forward to the events in Edinburgh and Glasgow.”

The next stage of the tour will take place in Edinburgh on 27th November with the final event being held in Glasgow the following day (28th). Fergus Colquhoun will assume presentation duties from Alasdair in respect of the Planning Update but otherwise, the programme remains the same:

  • Housing Law - Recent Cases and Legislation Update | Mark Lazarowicz
  • Here Comes the Flood – What’s the Remedy? | Ewen Brown
  • Rectification of the Land Register | Alan Innes
  • Planning & Environmental Law Update | Fergus Colquhoun

The Edinburgh event will be chaired by Douglas Armstrong KC with Fred Mackintosh KC taking over duties in Glasgow. Registration will be from 4pm, with the talks starting at 4.30pm.  Both seminars will be followed by a drinks reception at 6.30pm.

These events have been accredited for 2 hours of CPD by the Faculty of Advocates and are eligible for a similar award from the Law Society of Scotland for the solicitor branch of the profession.

The Edinburgh event is already at full capacity with a reserve list in operation, but spaces remain for Glasgow. There is no charge for attendance but booking is essential. To reserve your space, please email seminars@terrafirmachambers.com.
