Friday Fact – Captain No Craic

The first ‘War on Christmas’ was waged by none other than Captain No Craic himself, Oliver Cromwell.
Between 1642-60, Cromwell’s puritanical Parliament banned carol singing and confiscated food from feasts, holding that the day be one of “respectful contemplation” only.
