Gibson Kerr promotes two of its star solicitors
Edinburgh firm Gibson Kerr has promoted Hazel Mclauchlan and Stuart Millar to the position of senior solicitor.
Ms Mclauchlan has been working as a solicitor in Gibson Kerr’s family law department since March 2015, where she specialises in financial provision divorces, pre and postnuptial agreements, cohabitation cases, child contact and residence disputes.
Prior to that, she worked at Thorley Stephenson, where she completed her traineeship and gained experience in family law.
She is in the process of undertaking a specialist training programme in collaborative divorce, a non-confrontational way of agreeing the legal and practical arrangements for separation and divorce.
Mr Millar currently works alongside Gibson Kerr’s partner Lindsay Maclean in the personal law department, where he specialises in providing wills, administration of estates, powers of attorney, guardianship and tax and trust advice to clients.
Before joining Gibson Kerr, e completed his traineeship at Shepherd & Wedderburn in Edinburgh, before accepting a post-qualified position in the firm’s commercial property department.
After joining Gibson Kerr in October 2014, Mr Millar began studying towards the STEP Diploma for Scotland, receiving his diploma with distinction in 2016. He was awarded the highest mark in Scotland for the trust and executry accounting exam.
