Gillespie Macandrew appoints partner and associate
Scottish law firm Gillespie Macandrew has appointed a new partner and associate to strengthen its expertise within the energy, strategic land and housebuilder sectors.
Fraser Leslie is joining the firm from Bond Dickinson as a partner within the energy practice, while Peter Drummond is joining from McClure Naismith as housebuilder associate.
Mr Leslie, who will work from the Edinburgh office, has experience of acting for land owners and developers in relation to onshore renewables projects, with particular expertise in drafting option agreements, leases and related land issues and property matters.
He has also advised major oil operators and service companies on matters including a proposed decommissioning project.
Mr Drummond, who will work from Glasgow, is credited for setting standards for major title research, has acted for blue-chip commercial clients in connection with site sale and acquisition, contract negotiation and litigation.
Chris West, chief executive at Gillespie Macandrew (pictured right), said: “We are a growing law firm with development opportunities and are actively recruiting for a number of roles. It is important to us that we continue to attract senior legal figures with the experience and knowledge that Fraser and Peter possess.
“They arrive at a time when the firm is building its breadth and depth of expertise both from within our existing teams and from outwith and they will help to inspire and develop others within the firm as much as reinforce the message to our clients that we have the ability to deal with matters from all perspectives.
“The energy and housebuilder sectors are important to Gillespie Macandrew and we will continue to increase the size of these and other teams to meet the needs of our growing client base.”
