Glasgow University and Millar & Bryce produce FREE online conveyancing book
The University of Glasgow Diploma in Professional Legal Practice and Millar & Bryce have made the second edition of An Introduction to Basic Scottish Conveyancing available online to the profession.
The manual was the brainchild of Debra Clapham, senior tutor in property law and conveyancing, who was looking for a text which would bridge the gap between the undergraduate and Diploma property law courses, which are often taken a number of years apart, meaning that Diploma students were in need of an easily read revision text.
Kirstin Nee of Millar & Bryce generously funded the publication costs of the manual.
Eileen Paterson, director (operations) of the Diploma said” “The manual is the outcome of the collaboration on a pro bono basis by many members of the profession from a number of different organisations, who contributed their time, experience and expertise to develop this manual for the benefit of those commencing conveyancing practise.
“We hope that this guide gives a basic understanding of some of the issues that are faced by conveyancing practitioners in their day-to-day lives.
“We hope that it is of interest, not only to Diploma students at the University of Glasgow and other universities in Scotland, but also to legal trainees and paralegals, as well as seasoned practitioners who need a little help with the changes that have come about as a result of the new Land Registration Act and the other legislative changes in the past ten years.”
