Gordon Jackson QC found guilty of professional misconduct
Gordon Jackson QC has been found guilty of professional misconduct for discussing a case on a train in 2020.
Mr Jackson was caught on video making remarks about the complainers in the Alex Salmond trial,
A Faculty of Advocates disciplinary panel determined that the conversation breached a court order protecting the accusers’ anonymity.
Rape Crisis Scotland, which made the complaint that led to the investigation said Mr Jackson should be “stripped of his right to practise as a QC” [sic].
Mr Jackson said he would not be making any comment about the panel’s decision.
A Faculty spokesperson said that as the process was ongoing it would not be appropriate for Faculty to comment on the matter, beyond confirming it was correct to say that a finding of professional misconduct had been made regarding Mr Jackson.
