Donna Cooper (pictured right), who is based in the firm’s Edinburgh office, has been promoted to associate in the firm’s energy & natural resources team, while Glasgow-based Colette Miller (pictured below) makes the same step up within the public sector team.

Harper Macleod chairman, Professor Lorne Crerar, said: ““As the firm continues to grow significantly, we place huge importance on maintaining our culture as a business of opportunity for young lawyers and our reputation as an employer of choice.

“The majority of our associates and partners have come through our ranks and that is a source of great pride. More than anything, however, we are focused on providing the very best quality and value of service to our clients, and Donna and Collette do exactly that.

“These promotions will contribute to our growth plans for the year ahead, reinforcing our strength and ambition in these two key sectors and across our offices. Both our energy & natural resources and public sector teams are well regarded, and Donna and Collette have contributed enormously to them since joining the firm, impressing colleagues and clients alike with their ability and professionalism. Their promotions are well deserved.”

Ms Cooper plays a key role advising significant clients on major renewables projects and investments, as well as areas including PFI, construction, procurement and property work.

Ms Miller works across a broad range of matters, advising on larger projects within the public sector team and encompassing areas as diverse as land registration and regulatory work.

The promotion also reinforce the firm’s commitment to gender equality. More than 50 per cent of all lawyers at Harper Macleod are female, along with two-thirds of the entire staff.
