Harper Macleod now appointed by 75 per cent of Scotland’s local authorities following Aberdeen win
Harper Macleod has been appointed to the Aberdeen City Council Framework, which is open to seven local authorities across the north of Scotland.
This appointment saw the firm win a place on the new framework to advise both Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council, as well as being reappointed to advise five other local authorities - Highland Council, Shetland Islands Council, Orkney Islands Council, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Moray Council.
The framework runs initially for two years and will see firms on the panel provide commercial, regulatory and dispute resolution services to the local authorities.
The new contract means that Harper Macleod is currently appointed to act for 24 of the country’s 32 local authorities.
James McMorrow, a public sector partner at Harper Macleod, said: “We are delighted to have won a place on the panel to advise these councils.
“We know the challenges that local authorities currently face and how to help them navigate a time of change as they move towards being councils of the future. These appointments are a testament to the strength of our team and the quality of support we provide to authorities across the country.
“The appointments and reappointments under this Framework also reflect our continued commitment to the north of Scotland and our unique geographic footprint in the Scottish legal market.”
