Harper Macleod secures double tender win to advise Historic Environment Scotland
Harper Macleod has won a double appointment to advise Historic Environment Scotland (HES), the new public body which brings together Historic Scotlandand the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Scotland.
The firm was successful in two competitive tenders to advise HES under the Scottish government’s Central Legal Services Framework.
Harper Macleod will advise HES on property and related matters under a tender run under lot 5 of the framework. This includes advising on issues related to grants awarded by HES and all commercial, residential and rural property work.
Under lot 6, the firm will also provide a full range of legal services outwith property services, including matters such as: commercial & corporate; debt recovery; compensation work; information law; and intellectual property.
HES investigates, cares for and promotes Scotland’s historic environment and is responsible for the management and conservation of over 300 properties and distributes £14.5 million in grant aid to external organisations and individuals.
