Iain Doran
CMS has paid tribute to partner Iain Doran, who has passed away after an illness.
The firm said: “It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague and friend, Iain Doran, after a courageous battle with cancer.
“Iain joined our firm as a partner in the Glasgow office in 1998, and over the years, he left an indelible mark on our real estate practice, leading it with distinction for a decade. Although he stepped back from his role as partner a few years ago, Iain remained a valuable consultant, offering his wisdom and expertise to many of us on a regular basis. He was always ready to help tackle the most challenging legal issues, a true embodiment of dedication and passion for the law.
“Iain’s contribution to the real estate industry was widely recognised, including his inclusion in Legal 500’s Hall of Fame – a testament to his exceptional reputation.
“Beyond his legal acumen, Iain will be fondly remembered for his legendary seminars. He had a rare gift of turning even the driest of topics into something engaging, insightful, and often, incredibly funny. Iain loved the law, but he loved life even more, and those of us who had the privilege of working with him will miss him deeply.
“Our thoughts are with Iain’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.”
