Impressive £17,000 raised at Tumbling Lassie events

A final reckoning by organisers of the Tumbling Lassie charity events has shown that £17,000 was raised for the fight against human trafficking at home and abroad.
A seminar and a ball were held and the proceeds will go to two charities, International Justice Mission (IJM) and Trafficking Awareness Raising Alliance (TARA).
“These funds will be used practically to help fight slavery and people trafficking and to help those affected by it, both in Scotland and elsewhere,” said Alan McLean QC, chair of the Tumbling Lassie Committee.
“We could not have managed to do this without the help and assistance we have received from many people – we are very grateful.”

A seminar and ball in 2015 raised almost £14,000 which was also shared between IJM and TARA.

Tumbling Lassie was a major factor in the Faculty of Advocates’ success in the Scottish Legal Awards 2017, where it was joint winner of the “Community Contribution of the Year” category.
