A lawyer who made a virtual law office in Nintendo’s new Animal Crossing game has won praise from gamers.
The US attorney, who has chosen to remain anonymous, painstakingly collected the right furnishings to reassemble a typical law firm’s premises in the laid-back simulation game.
He posted the finished product in an online Animal Crossing community, where it has attracted thousands of positive reactions.
Speaking to Scottish Legal News, he said: “I built the office because I’m an attorney in America and I thought it would be a fun way to share a bit of my real life with the rest of the world during a time when people can’t gather in our real homes or offices.”
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released on the Nintendo Switch late last month and has become a critical commercial success, which industry analysts have suggested is partly thanks to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
A recent report from CNN said: “There’s a reason the popular game has rocketed to a cultural sensation in just a few short days. Its simple, gentle world is providing players with something that, like toilet paper and fresh fruit, seems to be in short supply: a sense of normalcy.”
