Indycampers sent packing after Court of Session refuses appeal to Supreme Court

The so-called “Indycampers” have been refused permission to appeal to the UK Supreme Court after being evicted from the grounds of the Scottish Parliament last November.
The group established a camp outside Holyrood at the end of 2015, vowing to remain until Scotland became independent.
Ultimately, the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB) was successful in having them removed, after the campers lost the case at first instance and on appeal.
In the Court of Session, Lady Dorrian, Lord Menzies and Lord Glennie, refused the group permission to appeal to the UK’s highest court.
A spokesman for the Judicial Office for Scotland said: “The Inner House of the Court of Session refused to grant permission to appeal as the court did not consider that the applications raised arguable points of law of general public importance which ought to be considered by the Supreme Court at this time.”
The campers have 28 days to lodge an application with the Supreme Court directly.
