#InPictures: Lindsays presents curling trophy to Phin League winners
Lindsays has presented a trophy to Neil Strachan of Claverhouse Curling Club, who successfully out-swept the competition to win the Phin League sponsored by the law firm.
For the first time, Lindsays sponsored the league this year as well as having a team compete in it. Claverhouse narrowly pipped Lundie and Auchterhouse to the title.
David Rose, partner in the firm’s commercial property team in Dundee, was one of the Lindsays players and was at last week’s prizegiving to present the trophy to the winning club.
Commentig, Mr Rose said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed playing in the league – and to be playing a part in the ongoing development of the sport across Tayside by being a sponsor too.
“A number of our players have curled competitively for the first time this season and have really enjoyed it. We would thoroughly recommend that people come and give curling a try – and that more local businesses consider forming their own teams too. It’s a great way to build workplace camaraderie outside of the office.”
Alastair Scott, secretary of Broughty Ferry Curling Club, added: “We have had a great season - and it has been fantastic to see more people trying curling in the region this winter, experiencing for themselves how this is a sport for all.
“The support we have had from businesses like Lindsays is really important in helping us open opportunities for others to take to the ice.”
