Jamie Foulis becomes youngest partner at Balfour+Manson
Family law specialist Jamie Foulis, who joined Balfour+Manson as a trainee six years ago, has been promoted to partner.
The 29-year-old becomes the youngest member of the 20-strong partnership at the firm, headquartered in Frederick Street, Edinburgh.
Shona Smith, head of family law at Balfour+Manson, said: “I’m very pleased to see Jamie assumed as a partner. He is an excellent young lawyer with a very high level of understanding of complex family law issues and a vital member of our team in this busy and ever-changing area.”
Mr Foulis, who started with the firm as a trainee in August 2011, is a member of the Family Law Association and volunteers with Citizen’s Advice Bureau as an adviser on family law matters.
He said: “I am delighted and very grateful to be given the opportunity to join the partnership at a firm where I have really enjoyed my time so far. I’ve found it to be a great firm to work at, with great people to work with, and I’m very happy to have the chance to continue as a Partner.”
Elaine Motion, executive chairman of Balfour+Manson, said: “We have a very strong ‘grow your own’ policy at Balfour+Manson and also strive to promote talented people, however young they are. That’s why I am so pleased to see Jamie join the Partnership. I look forward to him playing a big part in the firm’s short, medium and long-term future.”
