Joyce cashes in after almost four decades at Thorntons
Joyce Sturrock, senior cashier at Thorntons’ Dundee office, is retiring after 39 years of service with the law firm.Ms Sturrock joined the firm in December 1977 as a cash room assistant when it was known as Thornton Oliver. She progressed her career to become senior cashier and witnessed Thorntons grow and develop into the full service law firm that it is today.
She said: “I’ve loved my time working at Thorntons, I can’t quite believe it’s been 39 years. As you would expect many processes have changed over the years and I do much prefer the latest high-tech systems rather than imputing numbers on a clunky accounting machine, but this is all a thing of the past for me now.”
Colin Graham, chairman at Thorntons, said: “To reach 39 years’ service is a superb milestone and Joyce has been an excellent addition to the team here at Thorntons. We would like to wish her a very happy and much deserved retirement.”
