Julius Komorowski features in Equality: online webcast launch
Terra Firma Chambers’ Julius Komorowski features in the first episode of Equality:Online, a series of webcasts by Equality and Human Rights Commission in Scotland designed to provide a more flexible way of delivering training across the country.
In the first episode, Julius and Lindsey Reynolds, senior solicitor at the commission, discuss the themes of equality and justiciability in the context of international human rights law.
The episode is available on the EHRC website in full or in a shorter introductory version.
Both versions feature a basic introduction to the UN treaty monitoring system as well as the non-discrimination principle which underpins the key treaties.
The full version includes a more technical section which considers how and when international human rights instruments can be relied upon in domestic proceedings.
Emma Potter, practice manager of Terra Firma said: “The Equality:Online webcasts provide an interesting and innovative means of offering training and further information on the key issues covered by the EHRC.
“With Julius’ expertise in this area, in addition to his experience of providing online legal updates through his Pod’s Law podcasts, he was the perfect choice to feature in this opening webcast. I am sure that the webcasts will prove to be a very successful feature of the EHRC website.”
