Just Employment Law to turn Firhill purple for pancreatic cancer
Just Employment Law is set to turn Firhill Stadium purple tomorrow to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer.
This Saturday will see Firhill host its fourth Purple Thistle Day as the Jags and JEL unite to support the aims of JEL’s charity partner, Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland.
The law firm will be hosting the event with invited guests at matchday hospitality. PCAS will also have a presence around the grounds on the day and the players will warm up in purple.
David McRae, managing director of Just Employment Law, said: “Purple Thistle is an event all at JEL look forward to as we aim to bring colour and noise to Firhill to increase awareness of the aims of our charity partners, Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland.
“This year, we’re hosting some 80 guests for the day who are all looking forward to cheering on the Jags and adding a splash of purple to proceedings. We’re indebted to all at Partick Thistle, (including Kingsley!) for backing the event and helping to raise the profile of our charity.”
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest five-year survival rate of any of the 22 common cancers, with only approximately 10 per cent of patients being diagnosed at an early stage and in time for life-saving surgery. Raising awareness of the disease and the common symptoms is therefore hugely important for early diagnosis.
Some of the main symptoms include jaundice; upper abdominal pain or discomfort; mid back pain or discomfort; pale and smelly stools; loss of appetite; indigestion; nausea and vomiting; new onset diabetes; fatigue; change in bowel habit; and unexplained weight loss.
If you or a loved one regularly experience one or more of these symptoms which are not normal for you, do not ignore them, contact your GP straight away.
