Karen Cornwell appointed company director of Waterski and Wakeboard Scotland
Karen Cornwell, legal director at Thorntons Solicitors, has been appointed as a company director of Waterski and Wakeboard Scotland (WWS).
WWS is the governing body for the sport in Scotland – and Ms Cornwell, as a keen mono skier and committee member and Covid-19 officer of Loch Lomond Water Ski Club, fits right in.
Affiliated to the British Waterski and Wakeboard Federation, WWS is a non-profit organisation with all income invested in developing and protecting water skiing and wakeboarding across Scotland from the grassroots level through to their top athletes.
Having taken to mono skiing in her early teens, Ms Cornwell, now 47, said: “I am naturally delighted to have taken on such an appointment relevant to both my legal and sporting background. I have already taken on an active part in the role as director and am currently in talks with potential partnerships and collaboration opportunities.”
David Henderson, club president of Loch Lomond Water Ski Club, added: “Loch Lomond Water Ski Club were delighted to learn that one of their committee members – Karen Cornwell – had been appointed onto the board of directors of Waterski and Wakeboard Scotland. We wish Karen well in her new role.”
