Katia Sher and Emma Kolbuc win Dundee moot
Katia Sher and Emma Kolbuc have won this year’s Internal Mooting Competition at the University of Dundee.
Throughout the competition, organised annually by the university’s Mooting Society, participants tackle a range of complex legal issues, including topics such as duty of care and medical negligence.
The final round of this year’s competition was held at the Dundee Sheriff Court, where Katia Sher, Emma Kolbuc, Olivia McMurtrie, and Emma Bell competed as finalists.
The final round was judged by Iain Buchan and Anne Miller, both practising solicitors at Thorntons. Following an impressive performance from all finalists, Ms Sher and Ms Kolbuc emerged as the winners of the Internal Mooting Competition 2023/24.
The success of the competition was made possible through the generous support of the society’s sponsors for the academic year, Thorntons Solicitor Advocate Development Unit (SOLAD). Mr Buchan, representing SOLAD, assisted in delivering training sessions to society members and also served as a judge during the semi-finals.
