KPMG outsources to India in legal market incursion
KPMG, one of the “big four” accountancy practices is to recruit six India-based lawyers as it makes moves into the legal market.
KPMG UK’s general counsel, Jeremy Barton, said the new recruits would be based in the firm’s offices in Gurgaon, near Delhi, and would “support the firm’s general counsel team”.
Mr Barton said: “By setting up a remote team in India we will be able to provide an out of hours service for our UK firm and benefit from the time difference and lower operating costs the country offers.
“They will work closely with my colleagues in London, leading on commercial work where appropriate.”
