Laura Thomson named junior counsel to Sheku Bayoh inquiry
The Faculty of Advocates’ Laura Thomson has been named as junior counsel to the Sheku Bayoh public inquiry.
Last week, it was announced that Angela Grahame QC had been appointed senior counsel to the inquiry, which will begin later this year, chaired by retired judge Lord Bracadale.
The inquiry will examine the circumstances of Mr Bayoh’s death in police custody in Kirkcaldy in 2015.
Ms Thomson called to the bar in 2014, after a career in Crown Office where her posts included investigating sudden, suspicious and unexpected deaths and conducting fatal accident inquiries. She served as an advocate-depute from 2009-12.
