Law Societies from four jurisdictions meet in Belfast
Representatives from the law societies in each of the four legal jurisdictions in the UK and Ireland met in Belfast today.
Ian Huddleston, president of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, welcomed his colleagues from the presidential and chief executive teams of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Law Society of Scotland, and the Law Society of Ireland.
The regular meeting convened to discuss issues affecting the solicitor branch of the legal profession and to explore areas of mutual interest.
These included Brexit, legal regulation, professional indemnity insurance, personal injury claims and legal professional privilege.
