Law Society to host returning to work event
The Law Society of Scotland is running a series of free member events on Wednesday 22 June on the topic of “returning to work”.
Those currently on maternity, adoption or shared parental leave as well as line managers with staff on leave are invited to join the sessions in Edinburgh.
As an Investors in People employer and a finalist in Scotland’s Best Employer Awards 2015, the society is “acutely aware of the changing face of the legal profession and the need to respond to the altering demographic with appropriate levels of guidance and support”.
Earlier in the year, the society produced a series of free online guides.
Developed in consultation with The Talent Keepers, the guides were designed to ease the transition back to work for new parents and highlight best practice for line mangers.
Following on from the success of the online resources, Wednesday’s live events will be hosted by Jessica Chivers, Managing Director of the Talent Keeper Specialists.
Ms Chivers is an expert in coaching and retaining staff, as well as author of Mothers Work! How to Get a Grip on Guilt and Make a Smooth Return to Work. The itinerary includes a free networking lunch, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with one another, sharing their insights and experiences.
Rob Marrs, head of equality & diversity at the Law Society said: “Following on from our popular online guides, we are really pleased to host this training. We are committed to the delivery of a diverse and inclusive profession and understand the critical importance of getting return to work right. Both employee and employer benefit so much when return to work is handled well.”
The events are completely free, but places are limited and booking essential. For further information and to reserve your place, visit the website.
