Law student seeks solicitors to sit on board of diversity project
A law student is looking for solicitors to be part of an editorial board for an upcoming diversity and inclusion project.
Declan Dundas, a fourth year Scots law student at the University of Dundee, is looking for around five solicitors to volunteer for the project.
Mr Dundas is establishing a blog that will focus on diversity and equality issues within the legal profession with the goal of generating discussion around these issues.
He is seeking a handful of solicitors to assist with proofreading and editing to ensure a high level of quality control for the blog. Each solicitor would be asked to look over an article or two every couple of weeks to ensure it is fit for publication.
The project would also invite members of the legal profession including students, paralegals, trainees, and solicitors, to submit articles about their own experiences.
Mr Dundas said: “We would invite members of the profession to write about their own experiences as well - both positive and negative. We’d be celebrating all the amazing initiatives happening but we’d also be analysing the professions own shortcomings.
“It’s my hope that the project inspires real thought and discussion relating to the issues we face as a profession.”
