Legal book club to launch at Glasgow University next year
A new legal book club is to be launched next year at Glasgow University.
In 2020 RebLaw Scotland and Glasgow Open Justice will be launching a book club aimed at bringing together law students, academics, practising lawyers - and anyone with an interest in law and human rights – to discuss books with social justice themes.
Mary Robinson’s Climate Justice is the subject of the first meeting, on February 13 2020.
Mary Robinson is a lawyer and was the first female President of Ireland and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. In Climate Justice she explores personal stories of climate change, from Malawi to Mongolia, discussing her belief that grassroots activism can change the world.
Several copies of the book have been purchased for the Law Workshop (on a 24-hour loan basis). Alternatively, the book is available in most public libraries.
