Legal Services Agency secures £180,000 to help homeless
The Legal Services Agency (LSA) has secured £180,000 from the Oak Foundation to provide a holistic legal service to homeless people, refugees, rough sleepers and people in unsatisfactory accommodation with complex needs.
Nigel Scott, chief executive at the LSA said: “We are grateful to the Oak Foundation for supporting us to continue and expand our work on the prevention of homelessness. These funds help us continue to assist individual clients to obtain accommodation they are entitled to, and support our aim to develop sustainable housing solutions by changing the policies and practice of local authorities through strategic litigation and public legal education.”
LSA is a law centre and a human rights charity. It provides casework services to individuals –including advice and litigation in all relevant courts and tribunals, runs seminars and publishes and comments on policy.
