Letter: Last hanging in Scotland

Dear Editor,

In your article in relation to the late Len Murray you reported that Tony Miller was the last ever prisoner to be hanged in Scotland.

For the sake of accuracy Tony Miller was the last person to be hanged in HMP Barlinnie and was in fact the second last person to be hanged in Scotland.

The unfortunate Henry Burnett was the last person to be hanged in Scotland at HMP Craiginches, Aberdeen some three years later in 1963.
