Lindsays announces six senior promotions as the firm continues to grow
Lindsays growth continues with the announcement of three partner promotions – Nina Taylor (family law), Kate Wyatt (employment law) and Sandy Lamb (private client), taking the firm’s number of partners to 44, as well as three associate promotions.
The promotions involve people at all three of the firm’s city offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee. Within the Edinburgh office Ms Taylor has been promoted from director to partner in the family law team; residential conveyancing associate, Ms Cooper becomes a senior associate; and LaurenCook and Louise Norris become associates within the firm’s rural services and commercial property teams respectively.
The two further partner promotions are Dundee-based Kate Wyatt, an employment expert who has been promoted from director level, and Sandy Lamb, who was a senior associate in the private client team in Glasgow.
Ms Taylor joined the firm in 2013. She is dual accredited as a specialist in both child and family law by the Law Society of Scotland, one of only 21 in Scotland.
Alison McKee, partner and head of family law at Lindsays, said: “Nina’s accreditations recognise her expertise in both child and family law. She has a genuine commitment to helping clients and is actively helping to grow this part of the practice. Her new role will allow her to continue to strengthen our services to individuals and families.”
Ms Taylor’s promotion is a further boost for the firm’s family law team who recently won the Family Law Team of the Year Award at the Scott & Co Scottish Legal Awards 2016.
Mr Lamb has over 10 years’ experience as a private client solicitor, is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), and is also on the committee for the Glasgow Discussion Forum of STEP.
Callum Kennedy, partner and head of the private client team at Lindsays, added: “We are determined to continue to develop our practice in Glasgow. Sandy’s promotion is well-deserved and recognises the high level of client service that he provides.”
RSB Lindsays, as the firm is known in Dundee and Tayside, has grown rapidly over the past 12-months. With Ms Wyatt’s partner promotion, the firm now boasts 10 partners and over 40 staff based in the firm’s West End office in Seabraes and in Crichton Street.
In 2015 Lindsays welcomed five new partners and four lawyers when the firm merged with RSB Macdonald.
Lindsays’ managing partner, Alasdair Cummings, said: “We are delighted with how our business in Dundee is developing which is entirely down to our people and their commitment to helping clients and developing their network in the region.
“Kate’s promotion reflects our continuing determination to grow across Tayside. In the two years she has been with us she has fostered effective key business relationships and driven significant new client opportunities.
“As part of our Tayside expansion, we have recently secured an additional 2,600 square feet of office space in Seabraes. Our strategic plan is to continue to increase our presence in this region and further develop the range of services which we offer to both our individual and commercial clients.”
