Lindsays lawyers take to the ice as part of curling club
Lawyers from Lindsays’ Dundee office are boosting the ranks of an historic curling club as their firm also puts its name to a renowned competition.
Having run their own curling team in recent years, with nine colleagues taking to the ice to play competitively, the office is now joining forces with Broughty Ferry Bowling Club.
The lawyers will enjoy the benefits of being part of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club-affiliated operation, competing at Dundee Ice Arena and Forfar Ice Rink twice weekly in competitions during the new season.
Lindsays is also investing in the future of curling throughout Dundee and Angus by sponsoring the Phin League in Dundee and the rink at Forfar.
David Rose, a partner in commercial property at Lindsays and one of the firm’s players, said: “We have had a team in the Monday night league for a few years now.
“We have been encouraged to affiliate ourselves with one of the local curling clubs – opening up new options for us – and everyone at Broughty Ferry has been so welcoming.
“For our colleagues, it’s a great chance for us to enjoy some sport together. It’s also another way in which we are part of the community in Tayside.”
Broughty Ferry Curling Club secretary Alastair Scott added: “We are delighted to have them join us – and for Lindsays to come in and sponsor the Phin League, which is a great support to the sport locally.
“We are all looking forward to an enjoyable winter of competition.”
