Nina Taylor, director in Lindsays family law team, was one of a team of business mentors who volunteered their time to be involved in the ambitious leadership training project offered to the management team at St Vincent’s Hospice by Stirling-based consultancy, The Leadership Factory.

Ms Taylor offered advice and guidance to Sarah Mitchell, a physiotherapist at the hospice during two mentoring sessions over recent months. She was happy to volunteer her time and her involvement was a perfect fit with the objectives of “Lindsays 200”, the firm’s charity initiative launched to mark the firm’s bicentenary.

Ms Taylor said: “It was great to be involved with the programme and I am delighted that it has been such a great success, especially knowing all the participants felt that they benefited hugely.”

Ms Mitchell commented on the experience, saying in her final presentation: “Finally, working with my coach, Nick, and mentor, Nina, has been invaluable. Nick gave me lots of practical advice on how to tackle my project and I can use what I’ve learned with future scoping projects within day hospice.

“The two mentoring sessions gave me time and space to reflect on my current work situation and Nina gave me reassurance about a lot of things that I am doing right! She also gave me lots of advice and ideas that I am already using and will continue to use in the future.”

The programme involved the St Vincent’s Hospice management team benefiting from over 600 hours of time and expertise over the past six months. A total of 28 consultants and business mentors provided a mix of workshops, coaching and mentoring.
