L&M MediLaw represents over 120 patients in disgraced doctor inquiry
Following the news that Holyrood is to hold a public inquiry into the alleged malpractices of former neurosurgeon Professor Sam Eljamel at Ninewells Hospital, L&M MediLaw has announced that it will represent over 120 harmed patients.
The patients, who claim to have been adversely affected by the actions or omissions of Professor Eljamel are seeking justice and clarity over their distressing experiences.
Elizabeth Rose, a representative of L&M MediLaw, had previously discussed the potential group actions against NHS Tayside on The Nine, saying: “A public inquiry would allow those affected to understand what happened to them and why.”
The firm is seeking core participant status at the inquiry in order to offer a central platform for its clients’ concerns, experiences, and demands for accountability.
It said: “We strive to provide the best legal care to patients who have suffered injury and loss as a result of medical negligence. This inquiry is an essential step towards establishing accountability and offering closure to the countless patients who trusted the healthcare system to protect and heal them.”
