Long service recognised at Thorntons
Two cornerstones of the land and rural business law team at Thorntons in Arbroath have retired following a combined 82 years’ service.
Partner George Dunlop and associate David Dundas each marked their retirement from Thorntons this month.
Mr Dunlop joined the firm in 1975 and built a loyal client base providing legal advice on private client, agricultural and property matters. He is also an active and well-respected member of the local Angus community, and encourages his colleagues to follow suit.
He said: “It feels like the end of an era but I’d like to thank all my clients and colleagues from over the years. It’s been a pleasure working with you all and I trust my clients will be looked after by the very capable and talented team at Thorntons.”
Mr Dundas joined the firm in 1981 and has specialised in agricultural land transactions with vast experience in agricultural security work, farm purchase and sale, leases and renewable energy deals.
Colin Graham, chairman at Thorntons, said: “George and David have been integral members of the team in Arbroath but they leave behind a highly skilled team where clients will be in safe hands. We would like to wish them both a very happy and well deserved retirement.”
