Lord Carnwath delivers private law and people address
In a speech entitled “People and principle in the developing law”, delivered at the University of Cambridge, Lord Carnwath discusses three cases he heard while a judge in the Chancery Division.
He said: “I find it interesting to revisit my assessment of the people concerned and the situations in which they found themselves. 20 years on, and with the guidance now available, would I have approached them in the same way and reached the same conclusions? And what lessons might they have for future revolutions in the law?”
