Lord Keen QC: ‘GREAT’ campaign will benefit Scotland too

A major campaign to promote the UK’s legal services internationally will also benefit Scotland, the Advocate General, Lord Keen of Elie QC, has said.

Lord Keen told the Law Society Gazette that Lord Chancellor David Lidington will host an event in London next month as part of the ‘Legal Services are GREAT’ campaign.

Although he acknowledged that it “tends to inevitably be London-centric, because London is one of the pre-eminent dispute resolution centres”, he said it would also promote the other nations and regions of the UK.

Lord Keen also said there was “certainly an opportunity for law firms” to contribute to the campaign.

He said: “Not only will they contribute to the success of the campaign, but I hope they will also get something out of it as well.”

The event in November will “underline the Ministry of Justice’s commitment” to the campagin, he added.
