Lord Sumption addresses immigration, asylum and administrative appeals judges
Lord Sumption of the UK Supreme Court recently delivered a lecture to an audience of Administrative Appeals Chamber and Immigration and Asylum Chamber judges in London.
In his address, he reflected on the value the academic discipline of history can offer to lawyers, particularly those serving as judges.
Concluding, Lord Sumption told judges: “Every well-rounded professional should have room for at least one consuming interest other than the one that earns them their living. It might be DIY. It might be bell ringing. It might be Morris dancing. History is my equivalent.”
