Lord Uist retires
Lord Uist has retired from the bench.
Lord Uist was appointed a judge of the Supreme Courts in April 2006, having previously served as a temporary judge from July 2001.
Roderick MacDonald was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1975 and appointed as a Queen’s Counsel in 1988. His practice at the bar included both civil and criminal work.
He served as a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board from 1995 to 2000; a legal member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel from 1997 to 1999; and legal chairman of the Pensions Appeal Tribunal for Scotland from 1995 to 2001.
From 1987 to 1993 he was an advocate depute and served as home advocate depute from 1990 to 1993.
