Louise Gallagher named new head of DAC Beachcroft in Scotland
The partners of DAC Beachcroft’s Glasgow and Edinburgh offices have elected Louise Gallagher as the new location head for DAC Beachcroft in Scotland.
Ms Gallagher, who joined DACB in 2019, takes over from long-standing location head John Maillie, who has been in the role since 2015. Her three-year term began on 1 May 2024.
She is a partner in DACB’s Glasgow office and defends complex injury claims by adults and children, public and private sector clients – including care homes, nurseries, healthcare providers, religious organisations and leisure providers – and their insurers.
She specialises in defending claims of physical and psychiatric harm, stress, harassment and discrimination and infection control and also advises on policy coverage issues.
Ms Gallagher said: “I’m honoured to have been elected by my peers to this role. One of my priorities for the next three years is to help our colleagues in Scotland to reach their full potential, with work that challenges and develops them in an environment where they feel valued and supported.
“Under John’s leadership, our team in Scotland has flourished and I want to continue to build on the strong foundations we have as a successful, sustainable and growing business.”
DAC Beachcroft’s senior partner Virginia Clegg added: “I want to congratulate Louise on her new position. I am very much looking forward to working with her to continue building our team and our capabilities in Scotland.
“I would also like to thank John for his leadership over the past nine years. He has been a steadfast leader, overseeing a period of significant growth for us in Scotland and strengthening our reputation in the market.”
