Macfadyen Lecture 2020: Climate Change and the Convention
Judge Tim Eicke will be delivering the 2020 Macfadyen Lecture at the Royal Society of Edinburgh on 26 March at 6:00 pm.
The lecture will outline the existing Convention caselaw in relation to the environment and consider its potential and its limitations – both substantive and procedural – as one of the legal mechanisms for engaging with the challenges posed by climate change.
Judge Eicke was sworn in as the UK’s judge at the European Court of Human Rights in 2016. He read English law at the University of Dundee before studying German law at Passau University and practising as a barrister at Essex Court Chambers. He is fluent in German and took silk in 2011.
Tickets are free of charge and are bookable on a first come, first served basis on Eventbrite.
