Maclay Murray & Spens advises QUIZ on IPO
Maclay Murray & Spens LLP (MMS) advised QUIZ plc (QUIZ), the omni-channel fast fashion womenswear retailer, on its £200 million flotation on London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM), which takes effect today.
QUIZ’s AIM IPO is the fourth major public company deal for MMS’s Capital Markets team in as many months, and follows their recent work on the £11 billion recommended merger of Standard Life plc and Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, the Main Market IPO of Downing Strategic Micro-Cap Investment Trust plc in conjunction with a £100m placing programme, and the £250m Main Market IPO of The PRS REIT plc.
MMS partner and head of capital markets, Brian Moore, who led the MMS team, said: “This is a landmark moment in QUIZ’s history and we’re delighted to have worked with the QUIZ team on their successful AIM IPO.
“QUIZ is a business which is going from strength to strength and is in an excellent position to capitalise on the new funding and other opportunities this development offers. We’re looking forward to working with Tarak Ramzan and his team during this exciting next phase in QUIZ’s story.
“We’re particularly pleased to have helped bring another Scottish-headquartered business to the public markets, following on from our work on FreeAgent Holdings plc’s admission to AIM during November 2016. In the past two years there have been two Scottish-headquartered IPOs of trading companies and our team has advised on both of them.”
Tarak Ramzan, chief executive officer of QUIZ, commented: “The MMS team stood shoulder to shoulder with us throughout the process and helped guide us through the considerable work required to achieve our successful IPO. We are delighted to have reached this milestone today, in no small part thanks to the support we received from Brian and the MMS team.”
